HURTADO unveils the complete SOHO collection at Hight Point Market 2016, autumn edition
From Russia, to the United States, and then back to Europe to prepare for the new launches of 2017, which will be unveiled at Il Salone del Mobile (Milano). It has been a rather busy autumn for the Valencia-based furniture manufacturer HURTADO, who presented the complete SOHO range at I Saloni WorldWide in Moscow (October, 12-15) and in High Point (October, 22-26). An extended quality story for aficionados of understated sophistication…
The SOHO collection, which is 100% made in Spain, is a contemporary furniture collection that preserves all the refinement of quality craftsmanship and attention to details. It had a soft launch at Il Salone del Mobile, Milano 2016 in April. In the latest months it has been extended to include new bedrooms, dining room furniture and occasional pieces for living rooms that can also be used to complement other collections of HURTADO’s Evolution line.
SOHO features subtle designs made of a mix of pure volumes and soft, sweeping curves that accentuate the contemporary appeal of pieces. The intersection of planes and lines creates beautiful table bases and adds visual lightness to ambiences.
The expansion of SOHO and its great customization are aimed at opening new markets and meet new demands. The collection is available in 22 finishes such as the lacquers (matte, satin and three different levels of sheen) and a choice of wood that includes walnut, maple, oak, mahogany, rosewood and ash wood roots. Marble tops, leather and brass are used in large measure to keep schemes sophisticated and add further interest to ambiences.
The colour palette is kept in tuned with trends with a special emphasis on natural woods, creams, ivories and bright greys.
Great customization is indeed a core feature of HURTADO’s brand vision. “Thanks to our latest launches, included the modern MON and SOHO, and the ability to adjust to the needs and tastes of both clients and professionals, our business has increased by 35% so far this year”, pointed out Fran Hurtado, CEO at HURTADO. “The full quality control over all the manufacturing process is another big issue of our business. It helped us to open new markets in the U.S. on both the retail and interior design sectors” Hurtado pointed out.
New additions to SOHO have been specifically designed to offer solutions for different ambiences.
Bedrooms
As in other collection of the Evolution line, the SOHO new proposals for bedrooms come in different finishes. In natural wood or lacquered, the SOHO bedroom is pure contemporary refinement. It features a stunning king size bed with upholstered headboard and beautiful brass accents on feet, bases and handles. Bedside tables can be chosen with complete wood veneered with brass detailing or with marble top and leather fronts for a cooler touch.
The bedroom is completed by different models of low or high chest-of-drawers and is complemented by a choice of mirrors. The round-shaped mirror is a reminiscence of similar designs of the 70s.
Dining rooms
Aimed at being the statement piece of refined dining room, the new SOHO dining table is the epitome of perfect craftsmanship and attention to detail. With a racetrack extendable top, it features a dynamic retro look made of a suggestive combination of straight and curved lines, solids and voids. It can come in palissander or in any other wood configuration available in the catalogue, with wood or glass top.
The base is also embellished by a brass ornament that creates an instant visual match with the brass bases of sideboards and cabinets.
The other highlight is the sideboard that features four center drawers, two side doors, marble top and brass accents on the feet as well as on the top handles. All the drawers are provided with soft closing system. The offer for dining spaces is completed by a diplay cabinet with glass elements and LED lighting.
Living rooms
Modular elements have been added to the collection to provide the market with optimized solutions for the lounge spaces at home.
A low TV stand can simply be complemented by a choice of coffee and side tables whose geometric architectural forms and lines accentuate the chic appeal of ambiences. The new two-and three-seater sofas feature a mid-century design and are embellished by a delicate deep-buttoned back.
Consoles, a bar cabinet, chairs, armchairs, high tables complete the offer while providing matching solutions for living rooms and entrance halls.
SOHO has been highly appreciated by the US audience and professionals of the interior design industry. The press and specialized blogs and magazines covered the event in High Point and reported on the new collection: Furniture Today (October and November issues), Bridge for Design (Autumn, 2016), Home&Style – Robb Report, Designers Today, just as examples.
