KOO INTERNATIONAL, highly comfy sofas for lounge spaces
Feeling good at home, in the office or in any contract space, that is the final goal of KOO INTERNATIONAL, a leading Spanish company in the design and manufacture of upholstered furniture. With more than twenty years of experience, design, innovation, and coherence are the company’s hallmarks from its earliest days.
Along with the residential section, KOO INTERNATIONAL also has a contract division. New production techniques and high-strength materials have been applied to the upholstered furniture without neglecting the design and aesthetics of the pieces. The firmness and durability of the sofas and armchairs are guaranteed, allowing them to be present in all types of projects: hotels, restaurants, hospitals, and offices. The company also shows a strong commitment to design collaborating with renowned designers such as Francesc Rifé, Carlos Tíscar, and Lagranja Design.
Another key to KOO INTERNATIONAL’s success is the wide variety of fabrics and leathers offered by the company to upholster the different models. In 2021 a new collection of original upholstery has been launched which is easy to clean, resistant and environmentally responsible. Among the new options are recycled fabrics made from 100% recycled plastic from bottles collected in European beaches, sanitizable fabrics that can be washed with bleach and new collections of natural and synthetic upholsteries.
Here is a selection of the company’s most representative models for your interior design projects. Take a seat!
AUDREY sofa by Odosdesign
Designed by the Odosdesign studio, the AUDREY sofa stands out for its frame of organic lines that wraps around the seat. Highly customisable, this model comes in several types of colours and fabrics easy to combine. It is also possible to choose among many different legs: chromed, lacquered epoxy in anthracite or chocolate colours or in oak wood (natural, walnut or wenge). Cushions are removable for an easy cleaning.
KARA modular system
This model from KOO INTERNATIONAL’s extensive catalogue, whose name means seashell in Japanese, allows the creation of a wide variety of compositions ranging from the individual armchair to the 4-piece sofa. it comes with different types of backrest and leg finishes (nickel, chrome, chocolate, and anthracite).
Cushions are the key design element of the KARA modular system. Like sea sponges, they are all supported on seashells, giving the collection its name. Thanks to the multiple combinations that can be created and the different finishes, KARA is a versatile model that can be used in all types of installations.
MUS modular sofa by Francesc Rifé
The renowned interior and industrial designer Francesc Rifé has designed MUS, the modular sofa launched by KOO INTERNATIONAL. With a minimalist design, the heart of this new model is the wooden platform on which the cushions rest. As the designer himself has commented, the platform symbolises a pallet on which sacks have been dropped and is the piece that gives the collection its identity.
Together with the sofa, the collection is made up of several elements including chaise longue and poufs. In addition, the platform allows the composition to be personalised to the maximum by adding tables and ceramic planters and magazine racks. Available in a wide range of finishes, fabrics and different types of legs, its simple design makes it easy to install in any type of contract project as well as in private homes.
NEST sofa by Lagranja Design
But it is not just minimalist pieces that make up KOO INTERNATIONAL’s catalogue. The Valencian firm presents the NEST sofa, a piece of an elegant presence and rounded shapes formed by the combination of large cushions. Designed by Lagranja Design, the NEST collection combines elegance, comfort, and softness. The initial project has evolved into a complete system that ranges from an armchair to an eight-seater sofa that can be configured in different ways. Comfortable and versatile pieces for both domestic use and contract spaces.
SUM modular sofa by Carlos Tíscar
The original idea was to create a modular system that could respond to all kinds of needs. This is how SUM, the modular sofa designed by Carlos Tíscar, was born. As its name suggests, the SUM programme is based on an additive concept that allows different seating areas to be configured depending on the space. By adding different upholstered modules and auxiliary furniture, an infinite number of combinations can be created to resolve all kinds of situations in any installation.
Just as important as the design of the sofas is their comfort, resistance, and durability to cope in the best possible way with their continued use and the course of time. KOO INTERNATIONAL takes all these aspects into account when designing its models. Because sofas are where we read, sleep, work and share all kinds of moments; a good reason for them to be the key piece in all decoration projects.
