GLOBO is a landmark piece of twentieth-century Spanish lighting design, created by Miguel Milá in 1965 and now reintroduced by Kettal. Its almost elemental geometry gives the collection a calm, universal presence: a luminous sphere reduced to its purest expression, with the clarity of an industrial object and the warmth of a domestic icon. Originally awarded the Delta de Oro, it remains one of Milá’s most precise exercises in proportion, simplicity and atmosphere.
The design is built around a translucent polyethylene sphere produced through industrial blow moulding, screwed onto a black injected-plastic support and finished with a brass lamp holder. This direct, honest construction reveals Milá’s characteristic way of turning technical logic into visual elegance.
Updated in four sizes — 17, 30, 40 and 60 cm — and suitable for outdoor use, the collection brings a soft, diffused light to terraces, gardens, hospitality spaces and residential interiors. Its quiet presence allows it to work as a single accent or in rhythmic compositions, adding an atmospheric glow without imposing itself on the architecture.
