Designed by Ander Lizaso for AKABA, the LAINO chair and stool collection takes its name from the Basque word for ‘cloud’, reflecting its enveloping ergonomics and balanced proportions. Constructed with an inner shell of moulded beech plywood cushioned with multi-density polyurethane foam, the seat and backrest transition seamlessly to provide subtle flexibility and enhanced comfort.

Supported by a robust steel tube frame, LAINO is configured with or without armrests across a broad selection of base typologies: four-legged, cantilever, pyramid tube, swivel, and five-star office bases with casters. Engineered primarily for contract environments, corporate offices, and hospitality settings, the series offers extensive customisation through AKABA’s technical upholstery finishes and powder-coated frame colours.
