Casa CABaN Hayama Hotel
- Hayama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan
- Typology: Hospitality
Overlooking Sagami Bay on Japan’s Pacific coast, Casa CABaN Hayama is a boutique hotel conceived by Patricia Urquiola and STUDIO URQUIOLA, where architecture, craftsmanship and nature converge to create a highly personal hospitality experience. With just fourteen guestrooms opening onto generous terraces with views of the ocean and Mount Fuji, the project embraces a restrained material palette and a seamless relationship between interior and exterior spaces, fostering a calm and immersive connection with its coastal setting.
Throughout the hotel’s terraces and communal areas, KETTAL contributes a carefully curated selection of outdoor furniture from the ROLL, BAND and INSULA collections. ROLL club chairs and side tables provide intimate lounge settings, while the BAND club chair introduces warmth and tactile character through its handcrafted detailing. The modular INSULA sofa, complemented by INSULA side and square tables, creates flexible social spaces that encourage relaxation while reinforcing the project’s architectural language. Together, these collections demonstrate how contemporary outdoor furniture can strengthen the dialogue between architecture and landscape, combining craftsmanship, versatility and enduring comfort in a refined hospitality environment.
