The Red Dot design award is one of the most prestigious international design awards given annually in Essen (Germany), headquarters of the Institution. The aim of the award is to highlight the quality and innovation in the field of product design internationally. Since 1955 these awards have recognized designers, manufacturers and high profile global brands.
A professional jury composed of 37 members, has selected the FLEX chair collection from 4,600 products that competed in different categories.
An underlined theme from the organization is high quality in the pieces that are chosen. The FLEX chair faced tough competition as well as the critical eye of the jury that scrutinized each of the products by applying the highest standards and quality criteria. Specifically, the jury recognized FLEXA’s innovative ergonomic design as well as its functional and aesthetic appeal that maximize its performances and use.
FLEX is a new collection of light, functional multi-purpose chairs with a seat shell made of fibre-glass reinforced thermopolymer. The chairs are therefore particularly suitable for long-term use in public spaces, wherever there is need for a simple, practical, hardwearing and functional chair. A wide selection of different variations is available, with steel and aluminium feet with skids or swivel function, with or without wheels, upholstered and also stackable.
The collection has been designed under the criteria of respect to the environment as it is manufactured with 100% recyclable materials. Its strength, durability and safety has been credited with the most demanding international standards (ISO and BIFMA).
