ALCOR by CANCIO: The Art of Essential Design

May 6 / 2025

There are collections that follow trends — and then there are collections that quietly reset the tone of contemporary furniture design. ALCOR by CANCIO belongs to the latter. Designed by Estudi Manel Molina, this family of tables, chairs and stools embodies a quiet clarity that redefines the brand’s approach to form, function and identity. Understated, precise and adaptable, ALCOR marks a decisive move toward design systems that are flexible without losing character.

Every element — from the choice of materials to the construction details — is designed to respond to the needs of contemporary interiors across residential, hospitality, and workspace contexts. With its refined simplicity and remarkable coherence, ALCOR balances craft and functionality with elegance. Just the kind of thoughtful restraint that gives a space lasting impact.

ALCOR Chair. Where structure meets softness

The ALCOR chair is the soul of the collection. A quiet nod to Nordic tradition, it distils the essence of the wooden chair into something lighter, more fluid, more contemporary. The seat, carved from solid ash wood, is the point of departure. To this, two variations of pressure-moulded plywood backrests are offered — both designed to offer comfort and support while shifting the character of the piece through subtle formal nuances.

From there, the chair unfolds into another version with metal legs: two base options — four straight legs or the more sculptural aspa (blade base) — and a curated palette of finishes, from textured epoxy paints to warm stained woods.

Add the option of a soft, upholstered cushion, and you have a chair that fits anywhere — a domestic dining table, a contract project, or a hospitality setting — without ever losing its calm, confident presence.

ALCOR Stool. The same language, spoken at another height

ALCOR stools continue the visual language of the chair with clarity and coherence. Offered in both 65 and 75 cm heights, they are made to flow naturally between kitchen counters, bars, and high tables. The solid wood seat can be paired with a gently curved backrest, echoing the construction of the chair — a detail that ensures both comfort and visual unity.

Three base options give the stool remarkable flexibility: four metal legs, a sleek angled-leg metal base, or a solid wood version that enhances the warmth and tactility of the collection. With or without the optional cushion, the result is a stool that is both strong in character and subtle in form — perfectly at home in environments that demand both elegance and durability.

ALCOR Table. A perfect complement to the chairs

The ALCOR table is designed with the same quiet elegance that defines the rest of the collection. Conceived as a versatile system, it allows for tailored compositions through a choice of rectangular or round plywood tops with ash veneer, paired with beautifully crafted solid ash legs. It offers two options of angled legs for the rectangular version, and an angled-leg central base for the round option.

Whether in a compact kitchen or a large shared workspace, the ALCOR table adapts in both presence and proportion. The finishes — subtly textured, silk-matte, and rooted in the natural beauty of wood — reinforce a sense of calm sophistication. Every detail is considered. Nothing is decorative, yet everything contributes to the whole.

Crafted from sustainably sourced European wood and manufactured with local suppliers, the ALCOR table exemplifies CANCIO’s commitment to durability and responsible design — made to last, made to live with.

ALCOR is not just a collection. It’s a way forward. Essential in form. Flexible in spirit. ALCOR opens a new chapter for CANCIO — and for the spaces it inhabits.

Stay tuned for new additions next months…
