CALMA launches the new SENYORA seating system

Designed by Andreu Carulla (awarded Young Talent by PREMIOS INTERIORES 2015), SENYORA is an innovative seating system, which is adjustable to different structures without the use of complex fastening systems or mechanisms. It consists of a fabric with with flat inserts in its interior that shapes the seat and backrest of the chairs. The removable set of fabric and inserts, which is the core of the SENYORA system, can be easily placed over three different metallic structures that in turn correspond to different chair models: SENYORA PEPA, SENYORA LOLA, SENYORA MARIA.

This system allows replacing easily the seat in case of breakage, cleaning, changing of look without needing tools or complicate d mechanisms. In addition to the smart design, the quality of the materials and finishes, the comfort and the ergonomics, the original SENYORA collection is a popular, dynamic, bold and practical new furnishing concept for informal yet functional spaces.

SENYORA PEPA

Elegant, slender and playful, the SENYORA PEPA doesn’t go unnoticed wherever it goes. It is made of a 12 mm steel rod structure, which is epoxy powder coated for outdoor use.

The SENYORA PEPA collection, which can be considered a fresher version of a classic design, is composed of a chair, an armchair with headrest and side tables. In order to minimize unions, straight and curved sections have been carefuly soldered by using the GROC technique. The stackable structure is available in two colours, white or mocha.

The acrylic fabrics used are the Sunbrella Stripes Riviera Parma White and the Sunbrella Chartrés Carbon and Dove.

Cushions, which come upholstered with acrylic fabrics Sunbrella Chartrés Pewter and Shale, feature thermo-sealed seams and an interior waterproof protection for the comfort foams.

SENYORA LOLA

With its scissor-shaped structure and stylized aesthetic, at first glance SENYORA LOLA seems a restyling of a classic outdoor model: the typical beach deckchair. It’s like you have known it all your entire life. But in fact it is really different. In the first place, the production process itself is state-of-the-art, starting from the laser cutting of 10 mm solid aluminum sheets and including the exacting soldering process which make unions invisible.

The LOLA structure is stackable and is covered with SUNBRELLA SOLID LIME and SUNBRELLA SOLID ARUBA acrylic fabrics. Its painting process is based on a protective undercoat finished by a textured powder painting.

The available color for frame is white.

SENYORA MARIA

Finally, the SENYORA MARIA collection is an armchair with a very basic and simple design, yet it’s very comfortable. The frame, in white, features a powder coating with primer protection.

The perimeter structure is made of a 22×22 mm square aluminium tube while the 18 mm circular tubes support the upholstery and offer greater comfort. The acrylic textiles chhosen for the Senyora Maria are the SUNBRELLA SOLID NATURAL, the TAUPE and the SILVER GREY.
