EXPORMIM and VICCARBE in the new W Lounge of Hotel W Barcelona

Four years after its inauguration, the W BARCELONA keeps on renovating and updating its spaces. Recently, this unique and stylish urban retreat of the W Hotels brand has opened a new lounge of 275 sqm on the ground floor of the hotel that will complement the other culinary spaces and the cocktail bars, such as the Eclipse and the SALT restaurant. Designed by world-renowned architect Ricardo Bofill and located on the beachfront along the famous Barceloneta boardwalk, W Barcelona sets the scene for a spectacular stay in its 473 fabulous guest rooms & suites.

Among its enjoyable facilities, the hotel offers now a new vibrant and suggestive space where to meet with friends and have a drink (or two): the W Lounge. Main objective of the United Design Partnership studio, which designed the space, was to create a sensory experience that reflected the wow factor of the W Hotels brand. Colours and materials chosen have therefore to convey the unique nautical, vibrant, playful and social personality of the W Barcelona.

Designed by MUT DESIGN for EXPORMIM, the NAUTICA hanging seat was perfect to create fresh and vibrant lounging spaces around a stunning fireplace and overlooking the outdoor terraces. The firm supplied a total of 12 Nautica seats, 6 in a white finish and 6 in black.

Inspiration comes from the theme “sky and sea by day and night”, as they say at United Design Partnership. The W lounge benefits from an iconic view of these two elements, coming together on the edge of one of the most vibrant cities of the world.

All along the lounge the eye-catching Carnovsky graphics and the seats upholstered in deep blue, water green and moody coral colours evokes the vibrant world below surface and help to transit from day to night.

For this areas VICCARBE supplied a number of its PENTA chairs designed by Toan Nguyen that offer superior comfort through their balanced proportions and hues.

VICCARBE has also supplied the LEVITT armchairs, designed by Ludovica + Roberto Palomba, to the striking Eclipse bar on the 26^th floor, a real ‘it’ spot for endless nights in Barcelona. LEVITT is a perfect seat option to enjoy the spectacular views over the city and the sea or just to relax during a pause.
