Seven Spanish companies, all of them members of ANIEME, will be visiting Bogotá (Colombia), México DF and Guadalajara (Mexico) in order to strengthen the presence of their brands in the local markets: GAMAMOBEL, LAGRAMA, MOBLEC, MONRABAL CHIRIVELLA, MUEBLES CANELLA, POINT, SKYLINE DESIGN.
During the trade mission, the export managers will be visiting local importers and specifiers that have been previously visited by ANIEME on occasion of different market research in Mexico and Colombia.
Both countries are experiencing a significant development of their economies, particularly in the tourism and real estate sectors. As a consequence, over the latest years, the number of new projects in the hospitality segment has grown importantly leading to an increasing demand of furnishing products.
As for Colombia, the country’s economy increased by 4.0% in 2012, while an increase by 4.5% is expected at the end of 2013. The number of infrastructures and construction sites for the real estate and hospitality sectors is growing all over the country and therefore there is really a good market for furniture companies specialized in the contract sector.
Mexico is one of the main destination countries for Spain’s furniture exports. During the first 2013 semester, purchases from Spain amounted to 15 million euros registering an increase of 25.6% and placing Mexico 10th in the rank of main market for Spanish furnishing products.
Recent ANIEME’s market research highlighted the great opportunities for Spanish companies in the retail and contract sectors for medium to high and high-end products.
After Mexico and Colombia, a member of the staff of ANIEME will travel to Peru in order to analyze on the spot real business opportunities for the Spanish furniture industry and to extend the base of contacts in Latin American emerging countries.
