For the global leader in maritime transport, JMM has developed a comprehensive project that redefines the modern workplace. Under the direction of interior designer María Castellet, the design was born from a thorough analysis of employees’ needs, with a strong emphasis on comfort, lighting, and personalized environments.

The result is an innovative multi-workstation system, designed and manufactured exclusively for the company. Its structure features an upper shelf, conceived as a small “altar” where each user can thoughtfully arrange personal belongings. The connection between furniture and architecture is seamless: carpeted strips define individual workstations and seating areas while guiding the placement of suspended acoustic lighting. As these strips reach vertical surfaces, they transition into wood paneling—crafted from the same wood used in the workstations—creating a cohesive and refined aesthetic.

This design philosophy extends beyond the operational areas, inspiring a family of products that also furnish executive offices and meeting rooms. The proposal is completed with a meticulous selection of materials and furnishings, including upholstery, natural stone, outdoor furniture, seating, partitions, gym equipment, and lighting—all developed in collaboration with leading specialists.

In the building’s leisure area, a mural by renowned artist Paco Roca adds an artistic and emotional layer to the space. Conceived as a surprise gift from JMM and María Castellet to the company, the artwork tells the story of the Port of Valencia across three eras: past, present, and future. From the hard labor of dockworkers to the journey of a bicycle transported across the ocean, the mural poetically captures the company’s values and mission.
