- Hayama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan
- Typology: Hospitality
Casa CABaN HAYAMA is a boutique hotel on Morito Beach in Hayama, Kanagawa Prefecture, with views across Sagami Bay towards Mount Fuji. Conceived by Patricia Urquiola and STUDIO URQUIOLA, the project brings together architecture, interiors and hospitality in a coastal setting shaped by light, natural materials and open-air living.
The hotel has 14 guest rooms, each with its own terrace overlooking the sea. Shared spaces include a poolside area, rooftop terrace and dining venues, extending the guest experience beyond the rooms and into the surrounding landscape.
Kettal furniture is used across the terraces and outdoor communal areas, supporting moments of rest, conversation and contemplation by the coast. The pieces help shape a quiet, fluid transition between the interior spaces and the open views of Sagami Bay.
The project incorporates the INSULA sofa and table by Kettal, placed within the hotel’s carefully curated furniture scheme. Their soft volumes and outdoor character suit the poolside, rooftop and terrace areas, where comfort, durability and a close relationship with the landscape are essential.
