Set on the unspoilt coastline of Miches, in the Dominican Republic, the five-star Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa has been conceived as an adults-only luxury destination where contemporary hospitality is immersed in a tropical landscape. Designed by Verum Hotel Development, the resort combines elegant architecture with generous indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a seamless relationship between the guestrooms, communal areas and the surrounding Caribbean environment.

For this project, VOOLCAN Group delivered a comprehensive made-to-measure furnishing solution, producing and installing bespoke joinery and furniture for 500 guestrooms and suites, together with the complete fit-out of public areas and outdoor spaces. The interiors combine durable hardwoods, high-performance technical surfaces, handcrafted rattan detailing and natural fibres, creating a refined interpretation of contemporary tropical design. Outdoors collections by SKYLINE Design—one of the group’s brands— including the HORIZON daybed, NUDOS sun lounger, and the CALIXTO, BRAFTA and SERPENT collections, furnish terraces, pool areas and communal spaces, illustrating how custom-made furniture can provide design continuity, exceptional durability and a distinctive identity across large-scale hospitality projects.
