CALMA creates stylish outdoor ambiences for the hospitality market

Hospitality projects 2016

The company kicked off the year in buoyant mood as their UNA sun loungers were chosen to furnish the amazing pool area of the four-star Ozadi Tavira Hotel in the Eastern Algarve, Portugal. The hotel, originally built in the 70s, was redesigned by Portuguese architect Pedro Campo Costa in 2014 and in 2015 won the FAD Architecture and Interior Design Award. The jury pointed out that the restoration was carried out “with intelligence and sensitivity highlighting the values of the original building” and creating “pleasant surroundings and different spatial sequences that configure a welcoming context in which the architecture supports well-being and comfort”.

With its balanced, essential design the UNA outdoor collection proves a perfect complement to this beautiful boutique hotel that subtly fuses contemporary refinement, vintage details and local crafts. Designed by SerraydelaRocha, UNA is a complete outdoor furniture collection made of a powder coating aluminium frame combined with other different materials.

In search for new ways of enjoying a relaxing Mediterranean experience? Try the four-star Rif Mercure Nador Hotel, in Nador, Morocco. After a bath in the stunning swimming pool overlooking the sea you can sunbathe in comfort on the UNA sun loungers, which have also been supplied for the outdoor terraces and the SPA of this attractive hotel.

Inspired by the Venetian blinds and with a strong Mediterranean character, the TRAMA armchairs, another creation of Spanish designers SerraydelaRocha, complete the decoration of the luxurious indoor SPA.

Back to Spain, the UNA collection has been also used for the outdoor spaces and terraces of the new four-star Atenea Port Mataró Hotel and the roof terrace of the Inglaterra Hotel, both in Barcelona.

The decoration of the Inglaterra Hotel’s spectacular roof pool area, which combines classic style and contemporary design, is completed by the CUBE coffee tables and the sofas and armchairs from the Iniciativa Exterior 3i catalogue.

And what about creating contrasts? With their pure, contemporary design the UNA outdoor chairs and tables set an unexpected, understated mood in the outdoor terraces of the aristocratic Exe Casa de Los Linajes Hotel, in Segovia, which was completely refurbished in 2015. The restoration respected the historic aesthetic of the building while proving contemporary functionality. From the CALMA tables and chairs, clients can enjoy stunning views over the Eresma valley and the Castille’s fields.

A similar contrast effect can be found in the Kempferhof Resort, in Strasbourg (Alsace), a noble mansion of the 18^th century which was transformed into an elegant luxury hotel with golf club and restaurant.

The firm has supplied a number of armchairs from the CUBE collection that, we are sure, provides the right amount of comfort after a day on the green. They feature also a refined design and incredible hardwearing properties.

Designed by SerraydelaRocha and made by lacquered or textured rotational molded polyethylene, the CUBE collection includes an armchair and a coffee table.
