Clerkenwell Design Week 2026: SKLD Studio’s Outdoor Furniture for Contract and Hospitality Projects
Backed by Voolcan Group, SKLD Studio approaches outdoor furniture from a performance-first perspective—where durability, material integrity and usability are embedded into the design process. The brand operates in the space where contract requirements meet design intent, developing collections that hold up in hospitality, residential terraces and high-traffic outdoor environments without losing visual precision.
At Clerkenwell Design Week 2026, SKLD Studio positions itself through material clarity and formal restraint. Aluminium frames, braided cords and engineered textiles are not decorative choices but structural decisions. The result is a portfolio that reads as consistent and adaptable, shaped through collaborations with international designers and grounded in a balance between industrial processes and craft.

ARATA Collection | Armchair | By Valerio Sommella
Defined by continuity rather than contrast, ARATA builds its identity through soft geometry and material interplay. Designed by Valerio Sommella, the collection organises outdoor space as a fluid sequence—dining, lounging and poolside areas connected through a shared formal vocabulary.

The armchair exemplifies this approach. Its aluminium frame is drawn with wide radii and continuous curves, avoiding hard breaks or abrupt transitions. Braided polyester rope introduces a second layer—textural, tactile, and slightly informal—while the cushions complete the system with calibrated softness. The balance is precise: structure without rigidity, comfort without excess.

Available in finishes such as Aluminium Grey Brown or Rust, combined with Rope detailing, the piece adapts to different project palettes without losing coherence. The inclusion of a rocking version extends its usability into slower, more residential rhythms, while maintaining the same formal discipline.

ARATA operates as a comprehensive outdoor collection, from lounge seating to dining and sunbeds. Its strength lies in consistency—each element contributes to a unified spatial reading rather than acting as a standalone object.
SERRA Collection | Dining Chair | By Kar Durán & Miguel López
What happens when a familiar typology is pushed just far enough? The SERRA dining chair takes the archetype of the rattan seat and reframes it through a more controlled, architectural lens. The woven seat—executed in synthetic rope—retains the tactile quality of traditional craftsmanship, while the aluminium structure introduces sharper lines and a more deliberate stance.

The contrast is where the piece holds its tension. Conical metal legs replace the expected continuity of rattan, shifting the visual weight and giving the chair a clearer, more contemporary profile. Aluminium and polyrod ensure resistance to weathering and intensive use, but also reduce visual bulk, allowing the chair to sit comfortably across different outdoor settings—from compact terraces to larger contract dining layouts.

SERRA extends beyond the chair into a full outdoor system, including sofas, daybeds, loungers and dining tables. The language remains consistent: woven surfaces paired with refined metal structures, balancing familiarity and progression without slipping into pastiche.

SKLD Studio offers a focused answer to a common challenge in outdoor design: how to specify furniture that performs under pressure without compromising on design integrity. At Clerkenwell, the brand presents collections that are not isolated pieces but coordinated systems—built with aluminium, rope and textile to deliver durability, clarity and adaptability across contract and residential contexts. Not to be missed!
