Melting together outside and inside with ILLA, the new collection by BIVAQ
In the late sixties, it was all about bringing the outside inside and it seems like the trend has come back around and is gaining ground in the interior design industry. Floral and botanical prints on wallpaper and cushions, organic and round shapes, natural materials are again up-to-date and even furniture, lighting and accessories have crossed the border. ILLA, one the latest launches by BIVAQ, has an ambivalent character that easily adapts to outdoor and indoor spaces.
ILLA, the new collection designed by André Bluth, comes from the idea of creating a high performance, elegant furniture collection suitable both for outdoor and indoor. Based on the timeless garden furniture essence, it has all you need to bring indoor elegance to outdoor spaces without sacrificing comfort and durability, which are the biggest strengths of the brand.
Rod and cylindrical tubes have been used to achieve smooth, flowing shapes that pull any décor scheme together working well even in the indoors. You can play with elements from other collections to create dining sets and charming corners in bars and restaurants. Or just to add the cool feel of summer nights to your lounge space…
The collection includes:
- Dining armchair, in two versions: a basic one, without upholstery, and a second one, with an upholstered element interwoven among the rods forming the back. Both versions have a cushioned seat. It features painted stainless-steel legs and aluminium back and seat.
- Armless chair, with the rods of the seat and back forming a continuous, enveloping surface. Manufactured from cataphoretic coated steel and finished with powdered polyester paint.
- Low tables with a central, aluminium rod base and tops in different sizes and finishes: Ø45, Ø60, Ø110.
- Dining tables with square top of 90×90 and round tops of Ø90, Ø120 y Ø140, all with a central conical rod base.
The fire pit, which is offered in black with a customisable central base, is a new addition to the firm’s catalogue and has been specifically designed to create even warmer, welcoming ambiences that extend the amount of time people can spend enjoying the outdoors.
The 2018 catalogue offers an ample spectrum of contemporary colours (mustard, gold, peach grey, silver, turquoise, olive green and other mineral tones) that can be combined with other new finishes, such as the ultracompact Dekton surfaces and a range of attractive contemporary and vintage fabrics. Cushions are upholstered with either mass-coloured acrylic fabrics or vinytex and include a waterproof layer.
ILLA stands out for the rich choice of aluminium colours, materials, fabrics and textures that enables designers to play with combinations and get a personalized result that matches their projects.
