Salone del Mobile.Milano 2023. The Spanish furniture industry will be back in force to the Salone with a collective participation of 37 brands
From the 18th to the 23rd of April, Milan is ready to welcome designers, interior designers, architects, planners, and specifiers, as well as design-lovers, who are eager to have a firsthand look at the innovative developments and new product launches that the Salone del Mobile.Milano has in store for them, both inside the fairground and throughout the city.
This 61st edition is also somewhat exceptional, not just in terms of product and exhibitors’ quality – which is high as usual -, but mostly for a substantial revision of the exhibition format in an attempt to generate more value for the entire design community. The new formula is based in three main changes: the single exhibition level, with the exhibitors from the upper halls (8-12, 16-20) relocated to the lower ones in order to offer an almost “urbanistic” approach to the internal design of the fairground – a decision conceived to improve accessibility and visitor experience -; the new Euroluce layout, completely redesigned by the Lombardini22 studio, with a circular circuit focused on visitors and their fruition of the event for a simpler and more organic visit, that leaves no exhibitor behind; the interdisciplinary cultural component integrated into the spaces of Euroluce, which is based on the relationship between light, architecture, art and science.
The numbers of the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2023
With its amazing theatrical-looking stands and a wide offer of cutting-edge furnishings and furnishing accessories, the Milan Salone has always been an interpreter of contemporaneity and the challenges of the present and the future.
Over 170,308.50 m2 of net exhibition space, the Salone 2023 will bring together a total of 1,962 exhibitors, with 30% of companies coming from abroad.
The 2023 edition is divided into six trade events that will be run simultaneously: Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, Workplace3.0, S.Project, Euroluce and SaloneSatellite.
Spanish participation in the Milan Salone 2023
The local offer from Italian producers is complemented by top quality furnishing products from the most renowned international brands. Spain, this year, will be represented by a contingent of 37 brands showcasing in the main halls and including big names of the Spanish design scene and of the luxury home décor industry.
Since 1996, Spain’s main furniture producers have invested in the Salone as a privileged showcase for promoting new collections, meeting international clients and make new contacts. Their offer has always been one of the richest and has surprised visitors and professionals for the distinct indoor and outdoor atmospheres and the high standards of product presentation.
Over the latest years, Spain’s exports of furniture have seen a positive trend positioning an increasing number of Spanish brands as key players of the international interior design industry. In 2022, Spain’s exports of furniture increased by 13% to 2,954 million euros, an encouraging result considering the war and the unstable geopolitical context. On one side, France consolidates as the main foreign market for Spain’s exports of furniture (839 million euros, +5.2%), followed at a distance by Portugal (437 million euros, +19.6%) and the United States (213 million euros, +17.0%). Exports to Italy, which ranks 5th, grew by +13.6% amounting to 145 million euros.
The presence of Spanish top-notch brands at the Salone is not only due to the promotion of market-ready products, but also to a strategy aimed at strengthening their presence in a larger number of countries and sectors: hospitality, retail, corporate, restaurant, bars etc.
To support Spain’s collective participation, MUEBLE DE ESPAÑA has created its own specific promoting platform and it will also cover the event on its own social networks through the following hashtags:
