Spanish Furniture Design Shines on the Global Stage in Early 2026

The first half of 2026 has once again demonstrated the international strength of Spanish furniture design. Across Europe and North America, Spanish brands have collected awards at some of the industry’s most prestigious competitions, recognising excellence in design, innovation, sustainability and workplace solutions.

From office furniture and outdoor collections to product innovation and circular design, these achievements reinforce Spain’s position as one of the leading forces in contemporary furniture design.

German Design Awards 2026: excellence across furniture, office and outdoor design

The German Design Awards 2026 have recognised Spanish design across multiple categories, highlighting the sector’s versatility and international relevance. ANDREU WORLD received the Gold Award in Excellent Product Design – Office Furniture for VELO, designed by Benjamin Hubert. The chair stands out for its weight-activated tilt mechanism, offering dynamic support without manual adjustment, and for its use of 100% recycled and recyclable Pure ECO® thermopolymer.

In Excellent Product Design – Furniture, ANDREU WORLD achieved two Winner distinctions for BOLETE, designed by Patricia Urquiola, a versatile seating piece defined by its geometric character and circular material approach, and GARZETTA Occasional Table, designed by Afteroom, which brings a refined, minimalist presence to contemporary interiors.

ACTIU was awarded a Winner in Excellent Product Design – Furniture for DORIK, designed by Odos Design. Inspired by the proportions of classical Greek architecture, the table system integrates electrification solutions, addressing the evolving needs of collaborative workspaces.

In Excellent Product Design – Gardening and Outdoor Living, EXPORMIM received a Winner for MERIDIES, designed by Roberto Lazzeroni, a modular sofa system defined by sculptural volumes, comfort and a strong artisanal identity.

iF Design Award 2026: global recognition for product innovation

The iF Design Award 2026, in the category of Product Design – Home Furniture and Workplace Solutions, once again highlighted Spanish innovation. RESOL received the award in Product Design – Home Furniture for JUNE, a chair designed for versatility, clarity of form and everyday usability.

INCLASS was recognised in Product Design – Office / Stationery for OSWELL, a modular seating system designed to support dynamic and flexible working environments.

MOBBOLI by delaoliva received the award in Product Design – Office Furniture for IGGY, designed by Patrick Norguet, a seating collection defined by its elegance, adaptability and contemporary character (read the full article here).

Green Product Awards 2026: circular design for better living

The Green Product Awards 2026, focused on innovation and sustainability, highlighted the importance of circular thinking in contemporary design. KHAMA by ECUS Sleep received the award in the Interior & Lifestyle category for KHAMA, a modular mattress system designed to extend product lifespan through replaceable components, reducing waste and promoting circular use models.

The project also received an honourable mention at the CETEM Design Award 2026, reinforcing its position as a forward-thinking solution within sustainable habitat design.

Clerkenwell Design Week Awards 2026: workplace and planet-focused design

At the Clerkenwell Design Week Awards 2026, which celebrate innovation in workplace design and environmental responsibility, Spanish brands achieved strong recognition.
ANDREU WORLD received the Best for the Planet Award in the Furniture – Seating category for BOLETEe, designed by Patricia Urquiola, recognised for its circular material use and sustainable construction.

The brand also received the Best for Workplaces Award in the Office Seating category for VELO, designed by Benjamin Hubert, highlighting its ergonomic performance and suitability for flexible working environments.

NeoCon 2026: leadership in contract and workplace design

At NeoCon 2026, North America’s most influential event for commercial interiors and workplace design, Spanish brands delivered a particularly strong performance across seating, conference, outdoor and ergonomic solutions, confirming their growing leadership in the international contract sector.

Andreu World Design Excellence | A visual celebration of the 9 prestigious Best of NeoCon awards won by Andreu World, honouring breakthrough innovations in sustainability, gold, and silver categories across seating and table designs.

ANDREU WORLD was one of the standout names of the edition, collecting multiple distinctions across key product categories. The brand received a GOLD Award in Furniture / Seating: Guest for the PATIN Chair, designed by Patricia Urquiola, recognised for its refined versatility and contract suitability. It also achieved Gold in Furniture / Table: Conference for the FUSION Conference Table, a solution designed to support collaborative and high-performance meeting environments. In outdoor and hybrid solutions, SOLID Occasional Outdoor was awarded Gold in Outdoor Furniture: Tables, highlighting its adaptability across interior and exterior contract spaces. The brand also secured a SILVER Award in Furniture / Seating: Stool for the PATIN Stool, alongside a Silver Award in Outdoor Seating: Seating for MOON, both reinforcing its coherent design language across typologies and use contexts. In the field of workplace wellbeing and ergonomics, the SERO Chair received the Sustainability Gold Award, recognising its strong environmental focus and its contribution to healthier working environments.

Last but not least, the PATIN Chair, designed by Patricia Urquiola, was awarded the People’s Choice Award at the Best of NeoCon Awards, underlining its strong resonance not only with the jury but also with the wider design community attending the event.

Together, these recognitions position ANDREU WORLD as one of the most influential international voices in contract design, with a portfolio that spans seating, tables, outdoor solutions and ergonomic workplace systems, all unified by a clear commitment to sustainability and design excellence.

HiP Awards 2026: innovation in commercial interiors

During NeoCon 2026, Spanish design once again gained strong momentum on the international stage, with a remarkable presence at the HiP Awards 2026, organised by Interior Design magazine. Held in Chicago alongside the opening of the trade fair, the awards highlighted some of the most forward-thinking projects in Workplace, Hospitality and Environmental Impact categories.

VICCARBE received the award in Workplace – Lounge Collection for MISSIVA, a sofa system designed for flexible and collaborative environments, while ANDREU WORLD received further accolades with PASCAL LOUNGE (Environmental Impact), PATIN Chair (Hospitality Seating) and HULA Chair (Workplace Seating).

Additional Spanish brands were also recognised as Honorees, including iSiMAR (ONA, Outdoor Products), RS Barcelona (Folding Monochrome Ping-Pong Table, Outdoor Leisure), and EXPORMIM (MERIDIES, Outdoor Furniture Collection).

NYCxDESIGN Awards 2026: Spanish creativity recognised in New York

At the NYCxDESIGN Awards 2026, Spanish design was represented at the highest level of international creativity. GAN received the Winner Award in  for New Origins, a collection that explores contemporary textile expression through craftsmanship and material experimentation.

Additional Spanish brands—including COSENTINO, EXPORMIM and iSiMAR—were also shortlisted as finalists, reinforcing the country’s broad presence across lighting, surfaces and outdoor design.

ADCV Awards 2026: excellence in Spanish design and craftsmanship

The ADCV Awards 2026 once again highlighted the excellence of Spanish design, with GOLD distinctions recognising outstanding projects from leading furniture and habitat brands. Among the winners, SANCAL received the GOLD Award in Furniture – Seating for SURICATA, an all-in-one desk designed by Inma Bermúdez Studio.

VICCARBE was also awarded GOLD in Furniture – Upholstered Seating for CUBOW, designed by Meike Harde. In the Outdoor Furniture category, GANDIABLASCO Group received GOLD for BOSC Table, designed by Made Studio, while OFIFRAN was recognised in Public and Contract Furniture for BOSCO, designed by Arnau Reyna.

In addition, VICCARBE received the SILVER Award for the MANTO Lounge Chair, designed by Mónica Armani, as well as the ADCV Honorary Award for Innovation, which recognises its strategic use of design as a driver of international competitiveness.

The edition also included further mentions and distinctions across other categories, but these Gold and Silver awards in key product and furniture segments particularly reinforce the strength and diversity of Spanish design.

Delta Awards 2026: a strong pipeline of nominations

Alongside these international awards, Spanish brands have been strongly represented in the ADI-FAD Delta Awards 2026 selection, which recognises excellence in Industrial Design, Furniture and Lighting.

Among the selected companies are ANDREU WORLD, ACTIU, AKABA, CANCIO, INCLASS, KRISKADECOR, MUSOLA, NOMON, ONDARRETA, POINT, RS BARCELONA, SANCAL and VERGÉS, with projects spanning indoor furniture, outdoor solutions and lighting design. Although the final results are yet to be announced, this broad presence reflects the strength and consistency of Spanish industrial design.

A consolidated international leadership in design

The awards achieved in the first half of 2026 confirm the consolidated position of Spanish furniture design on the global stage. Across all sectors—from workplace and hospitality to outdoor and residential environments—Spanish brands continue to lead with a clear focus on innovation, sustainability and material intelligence, reinforcing their role as key contributors to contemporary international design.
