The NANSA chair from MUSOLA has won the prestigious German Design Award 2019

The prestigious German Design Awards are presented every year by the German Design Council that honours excellent, innovative achievement in design. The Prize has a very high profile throughout the world as it is awarded to products and projects that truly represent pioneering contributions to the German and international design landscape.

The competition is divided into the segments “Excellent Product Design”, “Excellent Communications Design” and “Universal Design”. A jury made up of 45 internationally renowned members selects the products and recognizes the award-winning entries.

The NANSA chair, a creation by young Spanish industrial designer Santiago Sevillano for the brand MUSOLA, has won the German Design Award in the category “Gardening and Outdoor Living” for its excellent design. The chair has been described by the jury as “a stimulating and novel chair with apparent Mediterranean panache that is very interesting for its conceptual design, in particular the bent tubes used to form the powder coated frame fascinate while the machine washable cushion provides functional practicality”.

Starting from an intrinsically versatile and informal design concept, the NANSA chair evokes Mediterranean sunsets, the joyful open-air parties, the colours, the freshness and the appeal of southern sea landscapes.

Inspired by the typical fishing equipment used by fishermen in the Albufera, a freshwater lagoon and natural park near Valencia, NANSA is an elegant outdoor chair with a frame made entirely of powder coated aluminium that can be lacquered in any of the fresh matt tones of the MUSOLA colour palette.

The light structure provides support to a comfortable, removable seat filled with waterproof polyurethane foam (DRY FEEL) and polyester fibres. The cushions come upholstered in the hard wearing and high performance SUNBRELLA fabrics which are available a rich array of colours, patterns and textures. NANSA is stackable up to 4 chairs.
