Maison&Objet Paris 2020: COLECCION ALEXANDRA, luxury and exclusive design furniture
Founded in 1994 out of the passion and enthusiasm of Spanish designer Maria J. Guinot, COLECCIÓN ALEXANDRA is a family-run business that designs and manufactures exclusive furniture collections that match up the taste and needs of the most discerning clients. Over the years, their exquisite furniture has turned the brand into a world leader in the haute décor market.
Now in its second generation, the company stays true to its founding values based on products and services that cover a total interior design concept. The brand puts therefore at disposal of interior designers and homeowners a rich source of more than 2,000 furnishing objects including furniture, textiles, rugs, artworks and lighting – all in the unique, exceptional style, which is the hallmark of the brand.
Their decorative range redefines interior design, combining classic pieces with eye-catching textiles and contemporary aesthetics. The HERITAGE collection represents an exquisite luxury offer – the same that marked the start of the company and has evolved into more contemporary forms. EVOLUTION includes a series of discreetly elegant articles in classic contemporary style, while EMOTIONS rounds off the creative adventure with a line of cutting-edge proposals for contemporary, cosmopolitan spaces.
COLECCIÓN ALEXANDRA has also started new collaborations with external designers – J.M. Ferrero, Michele Mantovani, CuldeSac, Ben Wu – who bring extra creativity while preserving the glamour and elegance that are the hallmark of the brand’s handcrafted products.
A selection of their rich portfolio will be on exhibition at M&O in the Forever Signature sector, in the 8 hall, where the brand will present the latest creations of furniture, decorative accessories, textile and lighting features from the three catalogues.
COBRA chair. EMOTIONS catalogue. By CuldeSac
COBRA is beauty, exoticism, luxury and quality. Its avant-garde, contemporary aesthetic evokes the sinuous forms and clean and neutral lines of classical architecture.
The seat joins the backrest in a very subtle way enveloping users in a warm embrace and offering them a 360º view. You won’t want to get out of it!
CRICKET collection. EMOTIONS catalogue. By JM Ferrero
There is also room for the British culture among the new designs of COLECCIÓN ALEXANDRA. This is the case of the new CRICKET seat collection by JM Ferrero, inspired by the unique clothing of the cricket players.
The batting pads have inspired the backrest upholstery which combines padded parts with plain material. The legs of this collection, which consists in a chair and stool, are available in turned wood or metal.
Recently, the collection has been extended with a fine line of furniture for bedrooms. Maintaining its original inspiration, the CRICKET headboard recreates the shape of the cricket pads used to protect the legs of the players. Its padded upholstery is soft and exudes warmth and comfort. The bed is complemented by bedside tables and a chest-of-draws that complete the decoration
TEMPUS coffee table. EMOTIONS catalogue. By Jacobo Ventura
As a perfect synthesis of art and mathematics, beauty is the word that best reflects the essence of the TEMPUS coffee table. Inspired by a mathematical sequence, its exquisite structure is the result of a rotational symmetric movement that provides the piece with character and turns it into a real work of art – a piece of sculpture, we dare say.
Beauty is also enhanced by the interplay and contrast of two different noble materials: an undulating geometric iron base and a tempered glass top that seems to restrain the spiral movement while providing lightness and transparency.
KENTIA occasional tables. EMOTIONS catalogue. By Jacobo Ventura
With its pared-down aesthetic, the KENTIA coffee and side tables have been created to provide spaces with design and elegance without overdecorating them.
The curved-shaped iron sheets that form the base inspire lightness, yet they are strong enough to delicately support the glass top.
It is offered in different sizes and heights which allow you to create combinations of volumes and finishes, including from the timeless black lacquers to modern metallic tones.
ARTEDO cabinet. HERITAGE catalogue By Maria J. Guinot
Contrasting styles and materials blend effortlessly in this eclectic collection that has been extended to include two new items: the sideboard and the Bargueño-cabinet, a sort of high-sideboard.
The classical details on the base and the carved legs, together with the crown and the decorative, chiselled handles, contrast with the sleek, straight lines of the body finished in glossy lacquer. As a result, pieces acquire a unique, eclectic character that turn them into the focal point of any interior décor.
The firm’s production flexibility and the versatile nature of their designs allow the customization of pieces and make sure that the company is able to adapt them to the needs and tastes of clients by selecting from a wide choice of finishes, textiles, leathers, fittings etc. It is precisely this level of customization and flexibility which confers the product a high degree of exclusivity. Each item is almost unique.
