Workspace Design Show London 2026 Highlights the Global Rise of Spanish Workspace Design
The fifth edition of the Workspace Design Show London 2026, held on 25–26 February, confirmed once again the growing influence of Spanish companies in the international workspace design landscape. The Spanish participation, coordinated under the umbrella of Mueble de España | Furniture from Spain, attracted significant interest from architects, interior designers and workplace strategists eager to discover solutions that respond to the rapid transformation of contemporary work environments.

The five participating brands – EXPORMIM, OJMAR, TEXFEL, IB Connect, DAISALUX – offered a compelling overview of Spain’s capabilities across the sector, presenting solutions that ranged from high-end furniture and acoustic panels to connectivity systems, smart locking technologies and architectural lighting. Their presence reflected not only the diversity of Spain’s workspace ecosystem but also its capacity to respond to emerging demands in office design. As hybrid work models, flexible layouts and wellbeing-focused environments become the norm, Spanish manufacturers are developing products that balance functionality, aesthetics, sustainability and technological integration.
The interest generated in London for Spanish brands follows a particularly dynamic start to the year for the sector. Spanish companies had already enjoyed strong visibility earlier in February at the Workspace Design Show Madrid 2026, now established as a key annual meeting point for workplace design in Spain. This momentum extends well beyond the domestic market: Spanish brands have built a strong presence across the international circuit, notably through the London and Amsterdam editions of the Workspace Design Show, the Clerkenwell Design Week (The Spanish Collection), the Orgatec (biennial), as well as major global design platforms such as the Salone del Mobile.Milano. Together, these events illustrate the growing relevance of workplace design within the broader design industry. The momentum highlights how the workspace is evolving into a multifaceted environment where collaboration, hospitality-inspired settings and advanced technical infrastructure coexist. In this context, Spanish brands are positioning themselves as agile partners capable of supplying complete solutions for architects, developers and corporate clients.

A Dynamic International Platform
According to the organisers, the London event achieved excellent results both in attendance and industry sentiment. More than 5,300 professionals visited the show, representing over 40 countries, while more than 100 exhibitors presented their latest innovations in workplace design. The audience was predominantly from the United Kingdom (94%), with the remaining 6% coming from international markets including Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Ireland.
Beyond the exhibition floor, the fair also hosted an extensive programme of talks and discussions featuring more than 140 speakers across four conference streams. The edition also marked the launch of the Workspace Design Awards, recognising outstanding workplace projects evaluated by leading corporate occupiers and industry experts.

Positive Feedback from Spanish Exhibitors
Spanish participants reported particularly encouraging outcomes from the event. The focused nature of the show allowed companies to connect with architecture and design studios that can be difficult to access through everyday commercial channels, opening the door to future collaborations and project opportunities.

Several exhibitors noted a significant increase in the number of professional contacts compared with previous editions, with some companies doubling their lead registrations while highlighting the high calibre of visitors. The fair also proved to be an excellent setting for strengthening relationships with existing clients while engaging with a broader international audience. At the same time, the strong presence of Spanish companies fostered valuable synergies between firms from the same country, reinforcing a sense of shared visibility within the international design community.

EXPORMIM reported an especially positive reception for its latest introductions, including the LEKU tables and the OBI armchair, both of which reflect the brand’s distinctive approach to craftsmanship and contemporary workplace comfort.

Meanwhile, OJMAR impressed visitors with its advanced smart locking technologies, notably the OTS 40 Batteryless and Pulse systems together with the OCS 30 Smart locking solution, highlighting the increasing importance of intelligent storage and seamless user experience in today’s flexible workplaces.

Sustainability in the Spotlight
One of the highlights of the show involved Spanish company Ojmar, which sponsored the Sustainable Workplace Design of the Year category at the newly launched Workspace Design Awards. The prize was awarded to the project developed by Interaction Ltd for the offices of Ecosurety, recognising an outstanding approach to sustainable workplace design.
For Ojmar, the award aligned closely with the company’s own innovation strategy, particularly the launch of its wireless and batteryless smart locking technology, which offers full functionality without requiring power supply or infrastructure—an advancement that contributes to more sustainable and flexible workplace environments.

Spain’s Growing Presence in the Global Office Market
The international visibility achieved in London reflects the steady performance of Spain’s office furniture sector. In 2025, Spanish exports of office furniture reached €198 million, representing a 2.7% increase compared to the previous year. France, Portugal, Germany, the United States and Italy remain the principal destination markets, while the United Kingdom currently ranks 14th, with imports from Spain valued at €5.3 million, accounting for 2.7% of total exports.
Although still a modest share, the British market presents clear growth potential. Events such as the Workspace Design Show provide Spanish companies with a strategic platform to strengthen their presence in the UK and connect with specifiers involved in large-scale workplace and hospitality projects.

A Sector Ready for the Future
The success of the Spanish participation at Workspace Design Show London demonstrates how the country’s manufacturers are responding proactively to the profound transformation of workspaces. As offices evolve into more flexible, collaborative and experience-driven environments, the demand for integrated solutions—combining design, technology, acoustics, connectivity and sustainability—continues to grow.
Spanish brands are proving well equipped to meet these challenges. With a strong culture of design, advanced technical expertise and an increasingly international outlook, they are playing a leading role in shaping the workspaces of tomorrow while reinforcing Spain’s reputation as a key partner for architects, designers and workplace specialists worldwide.
