ALEXANDRA | METROPOLIS Dining Chair | A Contemporary Take on Art Deco

Designed by Eugeni Quitllet for ALEXANDRA, the METROPOLIS dining chair translates the energy and architectural character of New York into a refined, timeless piece. Its design draws on the geometric language of Art Deco, with a light, precisely proportioned silhouette in which every curve and junction has been carefully considered. The ash wood structure brings natural warmth to the composition, balancing the chair’s graphic lines with a softer, more tactile character.

Upholstered in fabric or leather, the seat and backrest add another layer of comfort and material richness. The rounded forms and carefully executed upholstery create an inviting feel, while the leather options enhance the chair’s sensory quality and sophisticated appearance.

Versatility is another part of its appeal. With a wide choice of finishes and upholstery options, Metropolis can be adapted to a range of residential, hospitality and contract interiors — from understated dining rooms to more expressive schemes where the chair becomes a defining element.

Rather than relying on ornament, its character comes from proportion, material and precision: a contemporary interpretation of Art Deco that feels both distinctive and enduring.

Angel Cerdá | 1160 Dining Table | Marble, Metal and Modern Craftsmanship

For ANGEL CERDÁ, contemporary luxury is expressed through the combination of sophisticated materials and carefully resolved construction. The 1160 dining table brings together a fixed oval top in white porcelain marble with subtle grey veining and a sculptural stainless-steel base in a matt bronze finish.

The oval format gives the table a generous, sociable character, accommodating up to ten diners while maintaining a sense of visual lightness. Its distinctive base introduces a stronger architectural element, combining structural presence with an elegant, contemporary profile. The porcelain marble top offers the appearance and tactile quality associated with natural stone, while providing the durability and resistance required for everyday use. A polished edge adds a precise finishing detail, reinforcing the table’s sense of quality.

The table can be paired with Angel Cerdá’s 5186 dining chair, which combines a walnut-finished wooden back and legs with a cream faux-leather upholstered seat and integrated armrests. Together, the two pieces create a dining setting in which material contrast — wood, upholstery, porcelain and metal — becomes part of the overall design language.

Vical | The Capital Collection | Classical Forms, Contemporary Volumes

With the CAPITAL Collection, VICAL and Studiopepe take inspiration from one of the most recognisable elements of classical architecture: the Ionic capital. Rather than reproducing its decorative vocabulary literally, the collection extracts and transforms its essential forms. The volute becomes a contemporary design element, while geometric intersections and overlapping volumes create a visual language that moves between structural rigour and formal softness.

Curved lines meet more defined architectural elements, creating a carefully balanced composition. The result is furniture with a strong sculptural presence, but one that remains welcoming and functional. Volumes are softened and surfaces flow into one another, giving the collection a sense of movement and continuity.

This dialogue between strength and grace, structure and ornament is what gives The Capital its distinctive character. A reference rooted in classical architecture is transformed into a contemporary design vocabulary without losing its original essence.

The collection’s sofas and armchairs demonstrate how historical references can be used not as decoration, but as a starting point for creating furniture with a new identity — sophisticated enough for high-end interiors while retaining the comfort and usability expected of contemporary living.
