MOBBOLI receives two prestigious GOOD DESIGN AWARDS 2021 for its CAP and PEACH collections
What a fantastic end of the year for MOBBOLI! Its CAP and PEACH collections have just received two prestigious Chicago Athenaeum’s Good Design Awards 2021 for excellence in design in the category Furniture.
Now in its 71st year, GOOD DESIGN® is the world’s most prestigious, recognized, and oldest Design Awards program organized annually by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies and Metropolitan Arts Press, Ltd. In 2021, several thousand designers and visionary companies from over 55 countries entered the competition. An international jury of experienced experts from different disciplines selected over 1,100 new products and graphic designs that have been awarded not only for their aesthetic merit, but also for the materials selected, the level of craftsmanship, the surface structure, ergonomics, innovation, sustainability, and functionality.
The bold functionalism of the CAP collection, designed by Ximo Roca, has been recognized with the prestigious award. Inspired by the kitchen models of the 60s and 60s, this line of chairs and stools seeks, through its soft and gentle lines, to create a functional, comfortable space that invite to relaxation. CAP maximizes customization thanks to the wide variety of models, materials and finishes offered by the firm.
For its part, the enveloping shapes of the PEACH armchairs have also been appreciated and recognized by the jury of this 71st edition of the awards. This series of comfortable upholstered armchairs created by Arnau Reyna Studio features smooth, curvaceous lines that evoke the shape of the juicy summer fruit – hence its name. With high or low backrests and two types of base -swivel or sled-, the four models of armchairs are an example of how good design and elegance can combine in a seat conceived to provide comfort during long hours at work, in meeting or during business talks.
Now that our homes are doubling up as offices and offices are becoming more as homes, MOBBOLI strives to create versatile furniture that break barriers making people feel at work like at home and vice versa. This young brand stemmed from the creative impulse of delaoliva, a Madrid-based company with more than 60 years of experience in designing and manufacturing furniture for offices and collectivities.
With their contemporary, attractive aesthetic, MOBBOLI’s designs have their own identity that brings together the functionality, versatility and quality required for an intense use in both commercial, contract and residential spaces. They are committed to protecting the environment with a sensitive and responsive attitude.
Production is carried out entirely in Spain through an in-house manufacturing system that makes it possible to customize all their pieces. The production process is carried out in the main factory, which is located in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid), and by a highly skilled staff in Castellón de la Plana, in the Valencia Community. Here, the firm owns a sustainable plant provided with cutting-edge technology for the treatment of wood.
To create its collections, the firm works in collaboration with recognized national designers, such as Arnau Reyna, Ximo Roca, Yonoh and A.G de Vicuña, among others.
