Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026: Spanish Adaptive Design Solutions Shaping Residential, Hospitality and Workspace Interiors

March 27 / 2026

In Milan, the conversation around furniture continues to shift from isolated pieces to integrated systems built on modularity, composability and family coherence. Softer geometries, tactile finishes, and acoustic performance are no longer optional—they are baseline requirements across residential, hospitality, and workspace projects. Designers are specifying products that respond to how spaces feel, sound, and adapt over time.

Spanish brands are operating with precision in this context. Their approach blends material clarity—steel, aluminium, PET, upholstery—with a Mediterranean sensibility that prioritises comfort, light, and usability. The result is not decorative excess, but controlled warmth: products that perform technically while softening the spatial experience. This selection of brands—SANCAL, KRISKADECOR, SYSTEMTRONIC, ONDARRETA and NOMON—demonstrates how Spanish design is addressing current demands: modularity, acoustic control, and a more human scale in both private and public interiors.

VESTA Sofa. By Studiopepe. SANCAL

What does comfort look like when it becomes architecture? VESTA, a creation by StudioPepe for SANCAL,  answers with a system that combines structure and softness without compromise. Inspired by the Roman goddess of the home, the sofa is conceived as a spatial anchor—one that defines and softens the room simultaneously.

Its geometry moves between straight lines and curves, creating a controlled rhythm that avoids rigidity. The rounded forms are not decorative; they actively shape how the piece is perceived and used, dissolving hard edges within the interior. This is particularly relevant in hospitality settings, where seating must balance durability with a sense of ease.

VESTA operates as a modular system. Configurations range from compact compositions to expansive layouts, adapting to different spatial scales. Each module integrates a viscoelastic layer, delivering a seat that is supportive yet yielding. The base—manufactured in MDF and available in extra-matte or high-gloss lacquer—frames the volume with precision, while removable covers extend lifecycle and maintenance efficiency. The result is a product engineered for longevity without sacrificing tactile quality.

GIN Chair & Stool. By Sebastian Herkner. ONDARRETA

Extending a recognised design language without losing its identity, GIN draws on the qualities that made the Ginger collection distinctive—its soft, rounded forms and welcoming presence—translating them into new typologies suited to evolving contract and residential needs.

This new ONDARRETA‘s collection expands into stools, high tables, and chairs, allowing designers to maintain a consistent aesthetic across different zones—from dining areas to bar settings and collaborative spaces. This continuity is particularly valuable in hospitality and workspace projects, where coherence across functions is essential.

GIN preserves the approachable, curved geometry that defines Ginger while refining its application for more dynamic environments. The result is a family that supports flexible layouts and varied uses without introducing visual fragmentation—a measured evolution that is familiar in form, broader in scope, and aligned with contemporary project requirements.

SAIL Acoustic Space Divider. By Aitor García de Vicuña. SYSTEMTRONIC

Acoustic performance and spatial zoning are increasingly interconnected. Inspired by Mediterranean sailing, SAIL, a design by Aitor García de Vicuña para SYSTEMTRONIC,  addresses this shift with a freestanding divider system that merges spatial organisation with sound absorption. Its slender vertical panels evoke the elegance and movement of sails, introducing separation without blocking light or visual continuity—ideal for open-plan offices, hotel lounges, or hybrid residential spaces.

The collection comprises three combinable models—800 × 354 × 1614 mm, 600 × 354 × 1814 mm, and 1000 × 354 × 1424 mm—allowing designers to create customised configurations that adapt to the scale and function of any interior. With five finishes available, SAIL offers flexibility in aesthetic expression alongside functional performance.

Constructed with a steel structure and base and finished in a fully recyclable acoustic textile (56% polyester, 44% post-consumer recycled polyester), the system not only manages sound but also demonstrates material responsibility. Its design reflects a modular, composable approach, providing architects and interior designers with a versatile tool to shape environments where visual openness, acoustic comfort, and spatial clarity are all essential.

KHRONOS Space Dividers. By Rafa Ortega. KRISKADECOR

Responding to the same shift towards maximising spatial zoning and acoustic performance, KHRONOS extends the functional scope of metal chain systems by integrating acoustic panels directly into aluminium link structures. The result is a hybrid solution: flexible, visually permeable, and acoustically effective.

This KRISKADECOR‘s new collection is structured into two design dimensions: SÒLID and LÍQUID. SÒLID includes Boho, Metropolis, and Rosella, drawing inspiration from nature and architecture—floral geometries, urban grids, and controlled symmetry. LÍQUID features Peixos, Meduses, and Mantarraya, evoking the flow of water and organic movement, introducing dynamism and adaptability into any interior. This duality allows specifiers to calibrate the visual language according to the project context.

From a performance standpoint, the system reduces reverberation in high-traffic environments such as hotels, restaurants, and offices. Panels are produced from 100% recycled PET, while aluminium chains remain infinitely recyclable. Combined with local manufacturing, KHRONOS aligns environmental responsibility with long-term durability, without compromising its design impact.

OMBRA Wall Clock. By Albert Pablo. NOMON

A new creation by NOMON, experts in wall clocks and lamps, OMBRA turns the traditional clock into a piece of ambient design. It does not simply measure time; it modulates atmosphere. The piece integrates a circular anodised aluminium frame with an LED lighting system that casts a controlled glow. This interaction between light and shadow creates depth on the wall, introducing a secondary function: spatial enhancement.

In hospitality or residential settings, it operates as both timepiece and an indirect lighting source. Material clarity is key. The black anodised aluminium provides a precise, durable structure, while the lighting system delivers a warm, diffuse output. OMBRA exemplifies how small-scale objects can influence the perception of a space, adding a layer of intimacy without visual noise.

Across seating, dividers, and design objects, this group of Spanish brands demonstrates a consistent approach: systems over standalone pieces, material honesty over embellishment, and comfort understood as both physical and acoustic. Steel, aluminium, PET, and upholstery are deployed with intent, supporting products that perform in high-demand environments while maintaining a refined, human scale.

For architects, interior designers, and specifiers, this translates into tools that simplify decision-making—modular, adaptable, and aligned with sustainability frameworks—without compromising spatial quality. Explore these collections in Milan and assess how Spanish design can bring clarity, comfort, and technical precision to your next project.
