Virtual Salone Milano 2020: CALMA, original furniture to be enjoyed outside
CALMA is synonym with outdoor furniture. But it’s much more than that. It’s a different way of life inspired by the natural beauty which surrounds the company: sun, sea, the rocky coastline and the local winds all together. In just one word: calm. Founded in 2009, Calma produces original, timeless objects meant to be enjoyed outside. Local craftsmen, following the ideas of leading designers, make it all possible.
Calma, a true believer in responsible design, has expanded its wide range of products with new proposals to be launched throughout the year 2020. Ready to start a new life with Calma?
ALAT DAYBED by Andreu Carulla
Calma has created this new ALAT daybed in order to enlarge the successful ALAT collection. It’s a double extra-large lounger with a large canopy for sun protection. What makes Alat daybed so special? It measures 280x200x210cm, its cushions are made with high comfort technical foams and has a structure of aluminum powder coated textured painted. Comfort at epic proportions.
BOLET by Andreu Carulla
A stool? An occasional side table? BOLET is both of them. Made from traditional glazed ceramic, Bolet is an exercise in functionalism and an ode to craftsmanship. Hardened at 1,070ºC in the kiln, it is able to withstand extreme changes in temperature making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. Its original three holes on top provide a convenient way of moving it with ease. It comes in various traditional glaze colors.
COQUETA armchair by Pete Sans
Designed by the creative designer Pete Sans in 1987, the iconic COQUETA armchair has been rescued by CALMA for their latest collection. Craftsmanship, character and design meet in this classic in the history of Spanish design. The woven basket seat is suspended from a stainless steel frame while an original buckled belt spans the length of the chair providing tension. Bestowed with the prestigious Gold Delta Award in 1988, COQUETA armchair is both, a carefully balanced and a radical piece of design. Available in two finishes, natural and black.
BOOMERANG lounge chair by André Ricard
The renowned Spanish designer André Ricard is behind this woven mid-century outdoor lounge chair. BOOMERANG is a generously proportioned piece made with woven backrest and seat. The side structure, which names the collection due to its boomerang shape, is supported, together with the oak legs, by a steel skeleton in an original way. Comfort and tradition in just one piece.
This is just an example of all the original proposals that this company can offer you for your outdoor decoration projects. Do not forget to pay a visit to CALMA’s product gallery and website and find out the rest of its novelties. Original outdoor furniture for a new way of living.
