Downtown Design 2018: AGRIPPA, pure art furniture
When we think of AGRIPPA we almost immediately think of something related to beauty and exclusiveness. Since its foundation in 2008, the firm has been consolidating its position as a luxury furniture brand, creating pieces that integrate innovative style with the finest cabinetry. Their goal is all about growing their treasure of authentic works of art with new, inspired pieces that preserve heritage while exploring new, unique shapes and materials.
The dynamic and unique use of materials and production processes yields statement pieces that defy the conventions of contemporary furniture design going beyond pure geometry. Each of these “functional sculptures” – as they are referred to by experts – has been carefully designed to evoke sensorial experiences, to provoke feelings. They are made to be watched, touched and above all to be felt.

Made of solid American walnut (with FSC certification) and other precious materials (marble, Danish leathers, alabaster), each piece is meticulously engineered in an innovative way to highlight the natural beauty and attributes of the materials with a visible obsession towards quality. Ornaments take distinction to the next level including gold and silver leaf details, brushed aluminium and stainless steel, glass, mirror and even natural fibres.
AGRIPPA’s works of art are regularly used for hospitality and residential projects; they can be customized by the firm’s expert artisans and designers to fit the needs of clients.
ISADORA lounge chair
Isadora is a wing armchair that explores the typologies of the Nordic designs of the 50s, but at the same time it features elements that recall the futuristic and bolidistic movements. His silhouette evokes many things: a spacecraft, the legs of an insect or even the limbs of a feline about to jump on its prey.
MORGAN bar stool
Made of soft and sinuous curves, the elegant MORGAN stool evokes organic shapes striking the perfect balance between the elements and its proportion.
The artisan process and the attention to details, as well as the polished finish, enhance the beauty of wood, highlighting the sinuous, sensual silhouette reminiscent of beautiful vintage mid-century organic designs.
SALMA dining chair
SALMA is sensuality carved in wood, like a gust of wind or a flowing dance. Playing with lines, the design of SALMA creates a sense of movement that redefines the symbiosis between concept and physicality. Salma provokes and invites the senses beyond sight, allowing us to touch and feel the beauty of simplicity through its seductive curves.
NADIA dining table
Inspired by the form and function of organic fractals, the NADIA’s four symmetrical legs achieve a surprisingly rigid yet light structure. Available in different dimensions, square or rectangular, the table can be either the perfect centrepiece or compliment to any decor. It is offered in different tones of walnut or European ash with wooden or marble tops (White Calacatta Quartz or Ice Black & White Quartz).
CASIOPEA mirror
In CASIOPEA, rounded triangular elements interplay each other forming elliptical orbits around the mirror. This elliptic-kinetic effect reproduces the kinetics of the stellar orbits. In spite of the apparent bidimensionality of its three rings, the different sections along its profiles vary three-dimensionally enhancing the dynamism of its curves.
