One such technology is the UV disinfection system that emit short-wavelength UV radiations to destroy or effectively inactivate microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, mold, mildew, volatile organic compounds and many harmful airborne or aquatic pathogenic agents. UV sterilization is usually performed through light-emitting diodes (LEDs), lamps and bulbs and has been used for decades in the disinfection of surfaces, food and beverage, air conditioning ducts and water treatment plants.

A series of studies and tests carried out by independent laboratories have demonstrated that germicidal lamps have an efficacy of 99.9% in destroying viruses, fungi and bacteria. Type of tests include wavelength and photometry tests as well as some microbiological investigations for the eradication of microorganisms.

The innovation and the germicidal properties of the GERMILED lighting products has been recognized by prestigious awards and institutions. In 2021, the N-27 DUO LIGHT germicidal lamp has received two IDA Awards : the Silver Award in the Industrial And Life Science Design / Safety Designs category, and the Bronze Award in the Lighting / Special Purpose Lighting category.
