Top awards for the Spanish ANDREU WORLD in Chicago
Eighty-one awards were distributed in the Best of NeoCon 2018 competition of contract furnishing products during NeoCon at the MART. Eight Innovation Awards, five Editors’ Choice Awards, and a Best of Competition Award were included among the honours.
ANDREU WORLD has received the accolades for the FLEX armchair, the DADO sofa, the REVERSE OCCASIONAL table, and the DUOS stools. The collections, which have been designed by Jasper Morrison, Alfredo Häberli and Piergiorgio Cazzaniga, have been chosen from a list of 374 products participating in this year’s competition.
The DUOS barstool series and the REVERSE OCCASIONAL tables have both received the “Gold Award” respectively in the categories of Seating: Bar Stools and Tables: Occasional.
Fruit of the perfect fusion of traditional woodworking and technology, the DUOS bar stools are a new addition to the successful family of chair and armchairs designed by Jasper Morrison for the Spanish brand. Light and timeless, but with a robust wooden structure, the different options of the DUOS collection are offered in full wood version, with upholstered seat and back or with upholstered seat only.
Created by Piergiorgio Cazzaniga, REVERSE OCCASIONAL is an occasional table with a polyethylene central base available in several colours and 2 different heights. Table tops come in different shapes and sizes in oak, ceramic, HPL, white Carrara and black Marquina marble or lacquer finished. The new STONE version is completely made of marble.
The FLEX armchair and the newly-launched DADO sofa have received a “Silver Award” in the categories Seating: Conference and Seating: Sofa & Lounge, respectively.
The FLEX armchair is part of the extensive FLEX seating collection which includes chairs, armchairs, conference chairs, lounge chairs, office chairs, executive chairs, stools etc. The armchair is available with three different backrests (low, intermediate, and high) and various base options: four legs, sleigh base, central swivel base with casters or four-star swivel base.
Created by Swiss Argentinian product designer Alfredo Häberli, DADO is a line of modular sofas, available in two different widths, with a wide compositional offering that includes central modular elements, left and right corner, chaise longue, lounge chair with two arms and footrest.
The DADO modular sofa has also received a “HiP Award” awarded by the American magazine Interior Design, as the best sofa for workspaces.
Held every June at The Mart in Chicago since 1969, NeoCon serves as the commercial design industry’s launch pad for innovation—offering ideas and introductions that shape the built environment today and into the future. In its 50th edition, NeoCon has gathered the offer of 500 exhibitors that have displayed a host of innovative textiles and workspace products over a surface of approximately 100,000 sqm inside the Merchandise Mart, where the permanent Andreu World showroom is located.
