Workspace Design Show London 2026: OJMAR’s Locking Technology Redefines Workplace Infrastructure

February 18 / 2026

At Workspace Design Show London 2026, OJMAR presents a proposition that challenges one of the quiet assumptions of workplace infrastructure: that smart locking depends on batteries, wiring and periodic maintenance. For a company that has spent decades engineering locking systems, this moment reflects a deeper shift. The lock is no longer a standalone device. It is part of a connected architecture that shapes how workplaces operate, adapt and evolve.

As offices become fluid environments, with shared desks, changing layouts and mobile users, storage must follow the same logic. Lockers need to function without interruption, integrate with digital systems and respond to constant reconfiguration. OJMAR’s latest solutions respond to this reality by removing physical constraints and introducing real-time intelligence, allowing organisations to manage access, monitor usage and reduce operational overhead without adding technical complexity.

This year in London, OJMAR presents three locking solutions that illustrate this shift, each addressing a different layer of workplace management.

OTS 40 Batteryless

Designed by OJMAR, the OTS 40 Batteryless marks a turning point in electronic locking. It is the world’s first online RFID and NFC smart locker lock that works without batteries or wiring. Instead, it uses the company’s patented Push Power technology to generate its own energy through motion. Each interaction produces the power required for its operation, removing the need for an external supply.

This shift has practical consequences at scale. In a standard installation of 1,000 locks, the system can eliminate more than 3,000 metres of cabling, reducing installation time, material consumption and long-term maintenance. Manufactured using recycled and recyclable materials, with plastic-free recycled packaging and renewable energy in production, it aligns with environmental certification frameworks such as ESG and LEED while improving operational efficiency.

The system also simplifies daily management. Without batteries to replace or wiring to maintain, disruption disappears. Its modular and scalable architecture allows organisations to adapt locker configurations as layouts evolve, while multi-technology access through RFID and NFC supports both physical credentials and smartphone use. At the same time, centralised management via cloud or local server provides real-time monitoring, remote opening, access history and usage analytics across multiple sites.

International recognition, including the iF Design Award, Best of Neocon awards for Innovation and Sustainability, Best of Orgatec Innovation and the Mix Awards Product of the Year, confirms its impact not only as a technical innovation but as a new operational model.

OTS 40 (Pulse)

Where the Batteryless model removes dependence on physical infrastructure, the OTS 40 (Pulse), also designed by OJMAR, extends the intelligence of the system. Conceived as a fully connected locking platform, it enables organisations to understand and manage locker usage as part of the wider workplace ecosystem.

Through its online platform, facility managers can access real-time analytics, monitor occupancy and control lockers remotely via a cloud application. The system supports RFID, Bluetooth and NFC, allowing users to unlock with smartphones or credentials, while its integration capability connects seamlessly with third-party software. This enables advanced functions such as locker reservations, user allocation, and multi-site management to be implemented within a single environment.

Its plug-and-play installation reduces implementation time, while its battery autonomy of up to eight years ensures continuity with minimal intervention. Secure encrypted communications protect access data, and its ability to operate both online and offline guarantees uninterrupted use.

In practice, the OTS 40 (Pulse) transforms lockers into responsive infrastructure, capable of adapting to organisational change without physical modification.

OCS 30 (Smart)

The OCS 30 (Smart), designed by OJMAR, approaches workplace flexibility from a different perspective. Combining smartphone access with a tactile keypad, it allows users to interact with the lock in the way that suits them best. This dual technology supports environments where digital and physical access coexist, from corporate offices to education or fitness settings.

Its design focuses on usability and autonomy. Installation is immediate, and its battery life of up to five years reduces maintenance cycles. Dedicated applications provide intuitive control for facility managers, while users benefit from simple, contactless access. Accessibility has also been carefully addressed, with interfaces compatible with ADA and DDA standards.
Reliability remains central to its function. Low-battery alerts and emergency opening options ensure continuity, while its robust construction supports intensive daily use.

The result is a locking solution that integrates naturally into the workplace without adding operational friction.

Together, these systems reveal OJMAR’s direction: removing the physical and operational barriers traditionally associated with electronic locking. By eliminating wiring, extending autonomy and introducing real-time intelligence, the company repositions the locker as an active component of workplace management rather than a passive storage element.
