Orgatec 2026: BÕLN brings a softer, more flexible approach to contract and collaborative spaces

October 2 / 2026

As workplaces and shared environments become more varied, furniture has to do more than simply provide a place to sit. It needs to support different ways of working, meeting, waiting and socialising, while making collective spaces feel more comfortable and welcoming. This is the thinking behind BÕLN, the Spanish brand that will present two new collections at Orgatec 2026: SELMA by Stefan Borselius and FLOWIK by Noviembre Estudio.

BÕLN’s approach is closely linked to its Flexyskin® technology, developed from a polyurethane foam partly made from plant-based waste. The result is a compact, resistant material with a surprisingly soft and smooth touch, allowing the brand to combine durability with physical comfort and a distinctive, organic aesthetic. Its seamless construction also makes it possible to create flowing forms without compromising the performance required for intensive contract use.

The same balance runs through BÕLN’s wider philosophy: more flexible, more responsible and more pleasant environments, designed with people and their changing needs in mind. Its collections are intended for continuous, collective and outdoor use, while a broad colour range and the possibility of customised shades give designers considerable freedom when developing specific environments.

SELMA Seating System: Modular Seating for Changing Needs

Designed by Stefan Borselius, the new SELMA Collection meets one of the most relevant requirements in contemporary contract design: the ability to adapt a space without starting from scratch.

SELMA is built around three main modules — Seat, Backrest and Curve — that can be combined to create linear, curved or more enclosed arrangements. The result can be a compact setting for a short break, a waiting area or a much larger seating landscape, depending on the requirements of the project.

Its soft shapes and balanced proportions give the collection a relaxed presence, while the possibility of combining different colours for the base and seat adds another layer of freedom for interior schemes. Armrests and tables can be incorporated to extend its functionality and define different uses within the same composition.

This makes Selma particularly relevant to environments where furniture has to accommodate changing patterns of use: offices, educational spaces, shopping centres, airports and other high-traffic collective settings. Rather than prescribing one way of using the space, the modular system gives architects and interior designers the tools to decide how it should work.

The use of Flexyskin® adds a practical dimension to the concept. Its resistance, easy maintenance and suitability for intensive use allow the collection to combine a softer, more residential feel with the demands of contract interiors.

FLOWIK Modular System: Where Seating and Greenery Meet

FLOWIK by Noviembre Estudio takes a different route, bringing seating, planting and occasional surfaces together within one modular family.

The system starts with a double planter module onto which seats or tables can be added. By combining these elements, FLOWIK can become a divider, a place to pause or an informal meeting point, while helping to organise large, open interiors without relying on conventional partitions.

That ability to structure space through furniture and planting is particularly suited to today’s workplaces, where the distinction between circulation, collaboration and relaxation is increasingly fluid. Flowik allows greenery to become part of the spatial composition rather than an element added afterwards.

The modules can also be stacked vertically, creating different heights and configurations while retaining the collection’s compact, sculptural character. This gives designers another way to introduce rhythm and visual separation into open-plan environments without closing them off completely.

Its applications extend beyond the office. Thanks to the impermeability and resistance of Flexyskin®, Flowik can also be specified for airports, shopping centres, circulation areas and outdoor settings, making it a versatile option for projects where furniture has to perform across different conditions.

Designed for spaces that need to work harder

SELMA and FLOWIK show how BÕLN combines modular thinking, material performance and expressive design to meet the changing demands of contract interiors. Both collections give architects and interior designers greater freedom to organise, divide and activate spaces, while Flexyskin® brings the resistance and easy maintenance needed for intensive use.
