What a superb harvest of awards for Spanish Design! Spanish furniture brands continued their global ascent in 2024, garnering numerous accolades that celebrated their innovation, creativity, and exceptional craftsmanship. These awards not only recognised individual achievements but also underscored the collective excellence of Spanish design on the world stage. From breaking world records to redefining design trends, the stories behind these triumphs are as inspiring as the awards themselves.
If 2024 was a year of outstanding recognition for Spanish design, the transition into 2025 is proving equally promising, with major victories by TM Leader Contract and ACTIU at the German Design Awards. These early successes set the stage for another remarkable year of Spanish design excellence.
Kicking Off 2025 in Style: TM Leader Contract and ACTIU Triumph at German Design Awards 2025
The year 2025 began with a resounding success for TM Leader Contract, as Carlos Soriano’s SWAN design captivated the judges at the prestigious German Design Awards, winning in the “Excellent Product Design – Furniture” category. This award recognised the SWAN’s striking balance of functionality and aesthetic appeal, solidifying TM Leader Contract’s position at the forefront of forward-thinking design.
ACTIU further cemented its reputation as a leader in innovative and sustainable design by claiming three German Design Awards in 2025. The MEETIA table collection, designed by Ramón Esteve Estudio, impressed with its blend of industrial aesthetics and essential functionality for contract furniture. The GLOBB chair by Stone Designs stood out for its organic elegance and versatile seating configurations. Finally, the QYOS modular acoustic pods, developed by ACTIU’s R&D team, garnered recognition for their ability to create private, sustainable spaces within open office environments.
In October 2024, UECKO achieved a remarkable feat: a Guinness World Record for the world’s tallest wardrobe. Standing at an astounding 6.43 metres, this achievement showcased Spain’s unique ability to merge technical expertise with bold creative ambition.
National Recognition: Sancal’s Milestone Achievement
On home soil, the National Design Awards celebrated SANCAL‘s enduring excellence in the “Design and Companies” category. For half a century, this Murcian brand has crafted “happy products” that bring a sense of joy and beauty to interiors worldwide. SANCAL’s multidisciplinary approach to graphic, product, and interior design has left a lasting mark in over 90 international markets.
KRISKADECOR also received special commendation for its visionary aluminium chain curtains, which transform spaces with their elegance and versatility.
This family-run business continues to captivate architects and designers, enhancing Spain’s reputation for exceptional quality and creativity.
Celebrating Global Impact: Best of Year Awards
In December 2024, the Best of Year (BOY) Awards, hosted by Interior Design magazine, highlighted Spanish design’s remarkable versatility and global appeal. Among the winners, Patricia Urquiola’s BOLETE seat for ANDREU WORLD triumphed in the “Contract Seating” category, while SANCAL‘s VIBE collection redefined comfort in the “Contract Sofa” segment.
The accolades didn’t stop there. EXPORMIM‘s CASK collection, a collaboration with Norm Architects, charmed judges in the “Outdoor Furniture Collection: Designer Collaboration” category, while COSENTINO‘s DEKTON Petra Edition excelled in the “Surfaces” segment.
In the “Environmental Impact” category, GAN‘s NOMAD rug collection, designed by Alejandra Gandia-Blasco Lloret and crafted from 100% recycled fibres, sets a new benchmark for sustainable design.
Innovation Meets Sustainability: Archiproducts Design Awards
The Archiproducts Design Awards also celebrated Spanish ingenuity. KRISKADECOR‘s FEEL FREE room divider by estudi{H}ac stood out in the “Contract” category for its bold and adaptable design.
Meanwhile, GAN‘s LINES rug by Mayice Studio earned accolades in the “Decor” category, seamlessly blending artistry with functionality.
ANDREU WORLD Triumphs at NeoCon 2024 Awards
ANDREU WORLD achieved remarkable success at NeoCon 2024, securing nine prestigious Best of NeoCon Awards. This significant recognition highlights the company’s dedication to innovative and sustainable design. Notably, ANDREU WORLD received two Gold Awards: one for the AXIAL sofa in the Bench Seating and Modular Seating categories, and another for the FLEX Armchair Stool. The BOLETE chair and table also garnered recognition, winning respectively a Sustainability Award in the guest seating category and a Gold Award in the coffee table category . The BREZAL occasional table received both a Gold Award and a Silver Award in its respective categories.

Red Dot Awards: Honouring Spanish Creativity
The Red Dot Awards, bestowed annually by the esteemed German organisation “Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen,” have celebrated exceptional design for over 65 years. In 2024, Spanish design shone brightly, with 25 accolades awarded across categories such as “Product Design” and “Best of the Best.”
Among the winners were four distinguished brands under the Furniture from Spain collective. ANDREU WORLD’s GALA PURE ECO chair, designed by Piergiorgio Cazzaniga, earned acclaim for its ergonomic comfort and sustainable production in the Home and Seating Furniture subcategory. In the same category, ACTIU secured an award for its OWWI armchair and sofa series, designed by Arnau Reyna, which impressed with its harmonious and flowing design.
In the Garden Furniture category, VONDOM was recognised for the MILOS outdoor furniture collection, created by Jean-Marie Massaud, celebrated for its innovative use of top-quality materials.

IF Design Awards: Spanish Design on the Global Stage
In February 2024, the IF Design Awards reaffirmed their status as one of the world’s most prestigious design competitions. With 10,800 participants from 72 countries, this year’s event highlighted the exceptional creativity and style of Spanish design, awarding 40 Spanish companies and 22 design studios.
Among Furniture from Spain brands, INCLASS emerged as the third most-awarded Spanish company, earning recognition for its LIN bench and ESITT office chair, both crafted by Alegre Design. EZPELETA, in collaboration with Yonoh Studio, was celebrated for its versatile TRENA outdoor chair collection.
ACTIU, one of the most recognized brands in 2024, made an impression with the A+S Work office chair, further highlighting its expertise in innovative workspace solutions.
German Design Awards: Showcasing Excellence
2024 was a year of exceptional success for Spanish Furniture brands, beginning with a strong showing at the prestigious German Design Awards. ACTIU garnered two awards: one for the 100% sustainable FLUIT chair in the “Excellent Product Design – Furniture” category, and another for the A+S office chair, designed in collaboration with Alegre Design, in the “Excellent Product Design – Office Furniture” category.
EXPORMIM also received recognition in the “Excellent Product Design—Gardening and Outdoor Living” category for its 100% recyclable OBI outdoor furniture collection, designed by Ludovica + Roberto Palomba.
